Nitro Elementary is a PK-5 school located in Nitro, West Virginia and is part of Kanawha County Schools, the largest school system in the state. Our school is in a river community located not far from the banks of the Kanawha. We currently have nearly 350 students enrolled. Our school colors are red and black and the mascot is the Wildcat. We have an active student council representing grades 3-5. Nitro Elementary also houses a Third Base after school program. We partner closely with the Nitro City Police Department and have very active PTO and LSIC organizations. Parents are welcomed and are encouraged to volunteer and take an active role in their child's learning.
